Recent Testimonials Hi Craig,
I wanted to write to you, just to say thank you for such a special time in the Blue Mountains. I have two moments in time still vivid in my memory from the River Deep Mountain High experience.
One is a moment during the abseiling morning, we did a longer descent down the overhanging rocks. As my feet lost the grip of the rocks, the rope slowly turned me round and I found myself looking at the valley opening at my feet & I was filled with incredulity, what a place! How had I managed to get to be there as if I was a bird flying, what a treat! I was of course filled with adrenaline, but above that was my awe at the perfect beauty of the wet valley shining in the sunshine. Matt was great at showing us the technical aspects of abseiling and both he and Norbert took great care to make sure we were very safe and they were very encouraging, so the whole thing was not unduly scary!
The second moment was in the afternoon. It had been raining for the whole week, so Empress Canyon was too full for beginners, so the guides decided to take us to the Grand Canyon instead. It was absolutely beautiful, I enjoyed the walk through the rainforest parts, across thousands of shiny puddles, getting wet form the dripping rocks above. It was exciting to abseil down to the dark canyon. The walls are so steep that the sun cannot enter, except for a golden beam here and there that lights the sandy rock as if somebody had lit a trail of candles for us. At some point, as I let the river gently float me backwards, I looked up from the canyon to see the most magical vision of glittering droplets coming off the saturated vegetation high above, a continuous shower of diamonds slowly falling in vertical descent and getting lost in the darkness of the canyon. I thought to myself I wanted to live there. Throughout the whole thing, I had a smile fixed in my face, I could not help it, I just wanted to sing. I could see the magic of the canyon working on all of us, even the guides who are used to it. It was magical.
To cap it all off, we drove down the most beautiful road to your campsite. It was a beautiful evening and it was so exciting to think we would sleep with the kangaroos, woo! The meal was wonderful, thank you so much for that, just what we needed after a day of excitement, but also wonderfully sophisticated. The tents were very comfortable (it was more like glamping, something like glamorous camping). I loved sitting by the fire, the wild weather coming for a short period, the late chatting, the early rise and all the wild fauna you managed to conjure up for us. Thank you so much for sharing your place and your time so beautifully with us. It made me think I did not want to leave Australia any more....

Dear Craig
We just arrived home this afternoon - long trip! I can't tell you enough about how much we all enjoyed touring and hiking with you and Paul. The two days were definitely a highlight of our trip and we felt that we really got to know the Blue Mountains in a way that we never would have been able to on our own. So, thank you so much! Only disappointment was no camping - but we can't control the weather. We did very much appreciate the taste of camping that you worked in (tea at the campsite, finding kangaroos, the campfire and stars) all that and no freezing at night, or risking blown-down tents. We also wanted to make sure you knew that we enjoyed touring and hiking with Paul as well. He really had to earn his pay getting me up the rock scramble (I lost my nerve and he patiently coached me up). We had a great time with him, too. Also, we saw wallabies, parrots, and pink cockatoos - very cool. Kudos to Paul. So, if we are ever fortunate enough to go back to the Blue Mtns, we will look you up for sure, maybe we can camp! By the way, lots of pictures turned out amazing. I took some of the 3 Sisters at sunrise - around 7:30 the sun was hitting the rocks from behind - made for some very cool pictures. Thanks so much again for an awesome time. Lisa DeFilipis 12/07/2011
Dear Craig
I am writing on behalf of Guide Dogs NSW / ACT and the seven clients who attended the beginner’s abseiling course conducted by your organisation, to thank you and your team for the professional and well organised day. We were very appreciative of the professional manner in which the course was conducted and would especially like to thank your team of instructors for providing our clients with the opportunity to experience a safe and challenging abseiling day.
Yours sincerely Jacque Amos, Orientation and Mobility Instructor Guide Dogs NSW / ACT
Hey there Craig,
Just wanted to drop a quick email and say thanks for the amazing time on Sunday abseiling. “The Boys” and I had a blast ! They can’t stop raving about what an adventure we had that day. We want to know – what can we do next ???? Would love to do a “bigger” abseil and some rock climbing too perhaps – we’d love to get back up the mountains again soon. Giving you advance warning - we will definitely be back when it warms up and do a canyoning expedition with you as well.

Hello RDMH, This is Erin Chandler, from the Florida family of four that went caynoning/abseiling on the 29th. I just want to let you know that it was an awesome adventure! We had a lot of fun. Thanks so much!
Hi there guys. Just wanted to say 'Thank you very much'. I had a fab day doing Sheep Dip and Rocky Canyon on Tuesday (22 Dec). Loved every second of it. Even jumped in.... Who knew that was possible for a person who doesn't much like the water and can barely swim. It was great. Had a massive smile on my face all day and for most of the next. Looking forward to getting the pics. Corky was brilliant and the group I was with were ace. Thank you for suggesting/talking me into it. Hope you all have an amazing Christmas and New year. Thanks again. Marie Stainwright, UK (downunder)
Dear RDMH We had an unbelievable day of abseiling and canyoning thanks to your team. The idea of the day was to push my team (and myself) beyond our comfort zones; it was all that and more!
Your team were very encouraging and helpful; they talked us through each step of every challenge so we ALL successfully completed them, although sometimes not very elegantly. Many of our group overcame the fear of heights and water; together they actively encouraged and supported each other. The enthusiasm from the group was electric and conversation still hasn’t stopped. I was thrilled to have taken my underwater camera as the photos are fantastic and we have 120 of them plastered all over the gyms walls for all to see. Attached is a photo of our group. We have had many members asking for your details already. It was a very different sort of Christmas party 2009 we had! I wanted a change from everyone standing around getting drunk………. They’re all talking about what they want to do next year… thank you.
