Dear RDMH,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to express my thanks and appreciation for the wonderful time we had last weekend.

The purpose of our abseiling and camping trip was to introduce my family to abseiling and in particular to prepare my eldest son for a cadet camp in the holidays. Both our boys are far from timid and are frequently more adventurous than their parents but my eldest had a bad abseiling experience many years ago as a result of poor instruction and management by those running a abseiling base at a fair. As a consequence he was very aware that he had a mental obstacle to overcome and hence the trip.

I would like to pass on our deep gratitude to Paul for the highly professional, patient and understanding way he ran the trip. My son was able to do the 5m reasonable confidently but baulked at the 10m drop on the first pass. That he then came back at the end of the day and with Paul’s sensitive handling, was able to re-attempt the 5m and then conquer the 10m twice, was fantastic. Having overcome his fears I believe he would have then completed the 30m had we had a little more time! He now has the confidence to take on the abseiling challenges at cadets in style.

The rest of my family had a fantastic experience in the build-up and with the confidence gained, managed the final 60m drop with ease. Having myself taught others to abseil and climb in years past, I appreciated the thoroughness of the set-up, instruction and your splendid site near Scenic World; those bomb-proof bolts are truly awesome.

We then went onto your camp in the Megalong Valley and were very spoilt by the luxury of a fixed camp and Paul’s cooking. I hope your plans for the site come to fruition; it is a lovely location.

Hi Guys

I would like to start this email by saying, I had the time of my life yesterday. I had no idea canyoning was so much fun. I want to take the opportunity to say that a major contributor to how well the day went was due to our two guides which took us, Paul (corky) and Ian. These guys were unbelievable in there organisation and knowledge throughout the day. They also knew how to have and create a good time. OH&S plays a major role in today's world, again these guys were very strict when it came to safety without it effecting the fun. It was refreshing to see this level of responsibility in the guides.

I will definitely be coming back in the future for social and work functions and will be requesting Corky and Ian as the guides to take us. I want to thank these guys again for yesterday’s good time. Please pass this message on to them.
