Australia is an amazing and beautiful country, almost equal in size to mainland USA. With so many wild and remote locations available, it is our enviable task to show you, the intrepid travelling photographer, some of Australia's hidden gems.
Imagine exploring Australia with locals, who are passionate about their country, its peoples and their indigenous culture. Travel with multi-award winning photographers, and capture the magic and beauty of the outback, the north-west and the top end.
Visit remote areas such as the Simpson Desert, Cape York, Kakadu and Arnhemland. Capture the highlights of Central Australia, outback South Australia's Flinders Ranges or Coongie Lake, and the corner country of New South Wales. Explore the hidden gems of Western Australia, from the Kimberleys to the Pilbara and the Canning Stock Route.
On any of the following photo safaris, you are guaranteed to discover and capture unique Australian landscapes, wildlife and flora. River Deep, Mountain High offers passenger and tag-along photo safaris and tours, ranging from 7 to 21 days. This is personalised small group touring, with a maximum of 3 to 4 passengers per vehicle.
Our itineraries are flexible, and all about being in the right place at the right time, stopping along the way to photograph the most amazing scenery and locations. Sometimes we set up camp after sunset, as the best light is more important. So, if photography is more important to you than being herded on and off a tour coach, then come with us.
Sleep under canvas, or sleep under the stars - our accommodation varies from cabins to creekbeds to claypans. Make new friends and enjoy the camaraderie around the campfire. Bring home magic memories you will treasure for a lifetime.
Due to the recent rains through central Australia and southern Queensland, some itineraries will change due to flooding and roads being closed. Rather than cancel or postpone our tours, we will maximise our opportunities to visit areas outside of flood-affected locations, or concentrate on capturing the flora and fauna (including birds) in the remote regions. So, we you may not get to tick off a list of outback towns visited, but you can be assured that any tour you join will divert to areas of photographic interest, allowing ample time for your passion of capturing the unique Australian landscapes.
If you are mainly interested in joining a one day or weekend photography workshop, please use the Blue Mountains Photo Safaris link on the left menu.
